Cansaf has extensive experience organising programs and sending clients to Botswana, particularly Chobe. So, if you’re pressed for time there’s an option to take a day trip from Livingstone or Victoria Falls and this will include the legendary Chobe boat cruise, a full lunch buffet at the Cresta Mowana Hotel and ending off with a promised scenic game drive.

Chobe Game Lodge
Chobe Game Lodge is an elegant, 5 star, fully Ecotourism certified safari lodge and the only property located inside the world renowned Chobe National Park and set on the banks of the famous Chobe River, 20 kilometres upstream from the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi rivers. The Lodge can accommodate up to 100 people in total luxury and caters for children of all ages. The Chobe Game Lodge boma (outdoor eating area enclosed by reed walls) is situated under large Mahogany trees on the banks of the Chobe River. Like the rooms, the boma has been furnished in teak and leather.
Other facilities include a large swimming pool with a terrace, a riverside boma area where traditional dancers perform, a fully equipped conference room and business centre, a stylish bar with an outside terrace overlooking the Chobe River and a cigar bar with a full-sized billiard table. Guests can also enjoy a romantic sunset cruise down the Chobe River.
Cruises on small boats or aboard the Mosi oa Tunya, afford spectacular wildlife viewing and enable you to experience unforgettable African sunsets. Game viewing on the Chobe River is conducted by small, shallow draft and highly manoeuvrable boats piloted by expert boatmen.
Your resident professional guides offer slide shows, star gazing presentations, garden and river walks as well as walking safaris in the nearby Kasane forests.
Chobe Safari Lodge
Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River and shares a border with Chobe National Park. This is the same area where 4 African countries meet: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Chobe Safari Lodge, therefore, offers an excellent getaway location to Chobe, Victoria Falls or Caprivi. Chobe Safari Lodge consists of 46 Luxury Safari Rooms, 22 Luxury River Rooms and 8 Rondavels and family rooms with a separate room for children (bunk beds).
All luxury rooms have en-suite bathrooms with a bath and a shower, Air Conditioners, satellite television with 8 channels, telephone, safe and ceiling fan. All the rooms have stunning views of the Chobe River. Campsite grounds with 3 unisex ablution blocks on the property. The close proximity to Victoria Falls, Livingstone and Kasane International Airports makes Chobe Safari Lodge easily accessible, with daily road transfers or charter flights connecting all these airports with Chobe Safari Lodge. Chobe Bush Lodge
With its intimate, modern and contemporary design, Chobe Bush Lodge is found in Kasane along the Chobe River, within eye distance of Chobe Safari Lodge. They are close to 3 international airports –Victoria Falls, Livingstone and Kasane –and daily road transfers or charter flights connecting all these airports with Chobe Bush Lodge make them easily accessible. The flagship accommodation consists of 38 spacious luxury en-suite rooms each one with an open-plan bathroom featuring a bath and a shower, Air Conditioning, television and safe.
The rooms have a modern-bush style design. The bottom rooms have verandas while the top rooms have balconies with exquisite views over Chobe National Park. The Lodge has 4 large exclusive family rooms consisting of two separate bedrooms each with its own en-suite facilities (Twin and Double beds). The rooms and facilities of Chobe Bush Lodge have mixed views over Chobe National Park and Chobe floodplains in the far distance. The bush restaurant has indigenous flavours of Africa and serves a combination of a buffet and a la-carte style meals. Swimming pool and pool deck; Cocktail bar with beautiful views over African bush; Lounge areas with Wifi hotspots; Curio & Craft Shop; Secluded viewing platforms overlooking Chobe National Park. Guests will have the opportunity to go on a Game Drive or Boat Cruise in the mornings and afternoons, or simply relax at the Lodge. Other activities such as fishing or visiting a Namibian village could be arranged on request.
On the banks of the Chobe River in Northern Botswana, a new experience awaits the inquisitive traveller to Africa. Cresta Mowana or the Great Baobab as it means in Setswana, inspired the design of the new safari lodge. Thatched in rich yellow, Mowana’s reception area nestles around the massive trunk of the ancient tree. The Mowana Safari Lodge is home to 112 luxury rooms specially designed to blend in with the unique African surroundings.
All rooms are Air Conditioned with spectacular views of the Chobe River; have en-suite bathrooms and their own balconies. For game viewing, The Mowana offers guests great flexibility. The professional guides lead game drives in customised open 4×4 game viewing vehicles and water activities in specially adapted safari motorboats. Sundowner Cruises are particularly spectacular for sunsets on the Chobe River. Fishing excursions are also available. The backdrop of breathtaking vistas and magnificent sunsets seen from this lodge brings you face to face with the wildlife of the African bush. Activities from the Lodge include Game Drives, Boat Cruises and fishing.
Chobe Marina Lodge
Chobe Marina Lodge offers warm, personal service and a choice of accommodation in either studios, chalets or suites. The charming thatched accommodation has every modern amenity to provide guests with a relaxed and comfortable stay. Dining at Chobe Marina is all about good food and service to match. The Commissioners restaurant is an elegant and attractive eatery that allows for intimate and comfortable dining and offers diners beautiful views across the river.
An a la carte and Table d’ Hote menu is available and beautifully presented by our experienced and creative Chef and his team. The Mokoros restaurant serves delicious full English or continental breakfasts as well as light lunches and casual meals. The pool and Riverside Bars are perfect for watching the glorious sunsets while enjoying a long, cold drink. Guests can enjoy a sundowner cruise on the Chobe River from the hotel, and it gives a view of the wildlife, including numerous bird species, as you drift slowly down a side channel, where the silence is only broken by bird calls. From the comfort of your boat, you may view mighty elephant, giraffe, hippo and other wild animals returning to the Chobe River to quench their thirst.
Chobe Chilwero is located on the outskirts of Chobe National Park. Chilwero means “place of high view” in Setswana, and it perfectly depicts this magnificent lodge perched above the Chobe River with unparalleled panoramic views of the islands and floodplains as far as Namibia.
This boutique lodge has nine double and six twin luxury thatched cottages, all of which are individually designed to blend in perfectly with the topography and natural vegetation of the surrounding area.
The lodge has two twin cottages close to each other for families. Each luxury cottage has its own en-suite bathroom, which includes a big sunken handcrafted bath, indoor and outdoor showers, a private garden, a “sala” or private terrace, mosquito netting, ceiling fans, and air conditioning.
The main public area includes an elegant lounge and dining room, which are linked to spectacular outdoor viewing patios.
Chobe Chilwero provides guests with maximum flexibility when it comes to game viewing. The safari drives are led by qualified professional guides in specially modified safari motorboats and open 4 x 4 game viewing vehicles. On the Chobe River, fishing expeditions are also possible, with the main catch being tiger fish and bream. Sundowner cruises on the Chobe River are a highlight, with views of spectacular sunsets.
